Recent research suggests that our beloved old building may actually be the second oldest wooden school house in the United States; surpassed in age only by the famous school house tourist attraction in St. Augustine, Florida.

Architect John Tuten addressed the September meeting of the Alumni Board and reported that work on the old Sterling Building is progressing nicely.  The new official name of the building will be “Alumni Hall”.  John said some wonderful opportunities are available for donations and fund raising for the project, including a $10,000 donation for the brick plaza in front of the building; $12,000 for the sloping handicapped walk; $5,000 for the chimney; $15,000 for the bell tower; and $40,000 for the roof and copper flashing.  We hope to find some very generous donors for these projects.
