The Class of 1955 has recently added their commemorative plaque to the Alumni Wall, which runs parallel to Mansfield Street in front of the Main Building.  They join the classes of 1947, 1948, 1951, 1952, 1953, and 1954.  That brings the total to seven classes, with one more pending.  Each class purchased space on the wall from our Alumni Association and installed plaques listing their classmates.

Glynn Academy paid for the construction with the understanding that Glynn Academy Alumni Association would reimburse the school as we sell spaces on the wall.  Alumni Treasurer, Ken Trobaugh reported that the wall is totally paid for at this point!   We have reimbursed the school for their initial loan. All additional proceeds received will be used to fund the many Glynn Academy projects GAAA supports.

The Glynn Academy Alumni Association is a 501(c)(3) corporation under the IRS Code and all gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

What’s the cost for a plaque?

It varies, of course, depending on plaque size needed, but as a rough estimate, figure on about $25 per name, including the cost of both the space and the plaque.  By the way, every class that has worked with us on this has raised more than enough money without much trouble.  Maybe it’s something your class should consider!  For more information, contact Ken Trobaugh at 912-638-2142 or ktrobaugh@comcast.net
